Advancing Autism Awareness and Inclusion Across Africa

We are building an Africa where individuals with autism are understood, respected, and fully included in everyday environments.

Autism Awareness Starts With Understanding

Autism is not a physical disability—it's a neurodevelopmental and intellectual disability that many people misunderstand due to its invisible nature. The Africa Autism Alliance (AAA) exists to change that.

Our Mission

To ignite a continent-wide movement that changes how Africa sees, understands, and supports autism.

Our Vision

To shape an Africa where autism is understood without fear, embraced without stigma, and supported without limitation, an Africa where every individual with autism is given the dignity, inclusion, and opportunity to thrive.

What We Do

The Africa Autism Alliance (AAA) is a transformational initiative led by Jannis Health and The Realm of Love Foundation, created to build an Africa where individuals with autism are embraced, supported, and fully included in society.

Autism awareness training for companies and institutions

Autism awareness training for companies and institutions

AAA delivers structured autism awareness training designed for workplaces, public institutions, and service providers across Africa. These sessions build foundational understanding of autism as a neurodevelopmental and intellectual disability, addressing common misconceptions and promoting respectful, informed interactions. Training is tailored to real-life workplace and public-facing scenarios to ensure immediate relevance and impact.

Practical education on how to support individuals with autism

Practical education on how to support individuals with autism

Beyond awareness, AAA provides hands-on, practical education that equips participants with the skills needed to support individuals with autism effectively. This includes communication strategies, recognising sensory and emotional triggers, responding to distress or overload, and creating calm, safe, and supportive environments. The focus is on confidence, empathy, and dignity in everyday interactions.

Sensory-friendly guidelines for workplaces and public spaces

Sensory-friendly guidelines for workplaces and public spaces

AAA develops and delivers clear, actionable sensory-friendly guidelines to help organisations make their environments more accessible. These guidelines address factors such as lighting, noise levels, crowd management, signage, waiting areas, and workflow design. The aim is to reduce sensory overwhelm and improve safety, comfort, and usability for individuals with autism and others with sensory sensitivities.

Corporate certification and inclusion recognition

Corporate certification and inclusion recognition

Organisations that complete AAA’s training and meet defined inclusion standards are awarded the Autism-Inclusive Organisation Certification. This recognition demonstrates a measurable commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and social responsibility. Certified organisations receive official badges, certificates, and Alliance membership, positioning them as leaders in neurodiversity inclusion across Africa.

Community awareness and advocacy

Community awareness and advocacy

AAA leads community-focused awareness and advocacy initiatives that promote understanding and acceptance of autism at societal level. Through public education campaigns, school engagements, media outreach, and community dialogues, we work to reduce stigma and encourage inclusive attitudes. These efforts help build communities that respond to autism with compassion, respect, and informed support.

Why It Matters

Individuals with autism deserve respect, safety, and an environment that understands their needs. When companies, schools, and service providers are equipped with the right knowledge, they become part of the solution—building a truly inclusive society.
